New 2010 Porsche 911 for GT Motor Sport

Submitted by on Friday, 20 November 2009No Comment

Porsche 911 GT3 RPorsche has refined the 911 GT3 for the 2010 motor sport season. The new Porsche 911 GT3 R has been created for racing and follows the international FIA GT3 regulations. It is powered by a four litre, six-cylinder ‘boxer’ engine and delivers a maximum output of 480 bhp which is 30 bhp more than the 2009 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup thanks to its increase in engine size by 200 cc.

It you want a road car version of these racers then you can get one in the form of the 911 GT3 RS, which goes on sale in February next year.

The new model is also good for the ambitious amateur racing driver due to the anti-lock braking system, traction control and an electronic throttle with ‘blip’ function on gearbox down-changes which makes it much easier for drivers to get used to this new GT3 race car than its predecessor.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R is making its world debut on 14 January 2010 at the Autosport International Show at the NEC in Birmingham. The car is built by the Porsche Motorsport Department at the Weissach Development Centre and will be delivered to customer teams around the world as of spring 2010. The base price of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is 279,000 Euros plus local sales tax/VAT.
